Brief

The AbiCloud Infrastructure Management (AIM) is a collection of agents that manage the deployment of virtual machines and the local event system. AIM must be installed in each node machine that works with the following hypervisors:

• KVM
• VirtualBox
• XEN

Architecture

Each agent is developed as a plugin for Openwsman. Openwsman is an open-source implementation of the Web Services Management standard.

There are three plugins:

• Rimp enables the attachment (mounting) of remote repositories, copying and cloning of virtual images.
• Vagent manages the subscription, unsubscription and notification of the events produced by the virtual machines on the XEN and KVM hypervisors. The plugin uses libvirt to detect the events.
• Vbagent manages the subscription, unsubscription and notification of the events produced by the virtual machines on the VirtualBox hypervisor.
• Vlan manages VLANs on the XEN and KVM hypervisors.

In order to detect the events produced by the machines on the VirtualBox hypervisor, the vboxmonitor module is needed. It works as a daemon.

Configuration

For KVM, uncomment libvirt_uri for KVM and comment the XEN libvirt_uri line. For Xen, uncomment libvirt_uri for XEN and comment the KVM libvirt_uri line.

Put the correct path in the system. By default, this configuration will work.

Config the repository path.
