LVM Storage Configuration

A Few things to note before installing

Abiquo Server runs on top of the Enterprise Class CentOS 5.4 Linux distribution. We'll try to make things easy for non-linux users/sysadmins, but prior knowledge of GNU/Linux or other Unix-like systems and the software previously mentioned is highly recommended.

Perform a CentOS/RHEL 5.4 x86_64 Core Install

• Download CentOS 5.4 x86_64 DVD from a CentOS mirror: http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/5.4/isos/x86_64/
• Minimal install (Deselect all the package groups), no graphical environment needed.

The recommended layout is:

Recommended layout This is a recommended layout. Only a LVM Volume group named abiquo is mandatory. Sizes and other names are modificables.

Important notes Only x86_64 architecture is supported. i386 will NOT work. SELinux and Firewall must be disabled. See Disabling SELinux. IPv6 can be disabled during the install process. We recommend you to configure a static IP.

Aditional Requirements (pre-requisites)

Install Java JDK 6.

Get it from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk6.jsp and install the RPM. Make sure you have Java available in /usr/java/default after installing the RPM package.

Install the Abiquo LVM iSCSI package

Use the abiquo-lvmiscsi RPM package we provided and install it issuing the following command:
