Cloud Admin Enterprise Admin User

Abiquo user management is quite simple. The platform uses three default roles to grant access to the different cloud features, and to give each participant the required abstraction to consume the IaaS cloud service. The following picture illustrates the basic role hierachy and isolation in Abiquo:

Basic User management

From the Users view, System Administrators and Enterprise Administrators can manage the users that will be allowed to access the platform, using the bottom control buttons of the left panel.

Profile Restrictions
  • System Administrators can manage users on all enterprises.
  • Enterprise Administrators can only manage users of their enterprise.

The allowed operations to manage users are:

Creating or editing a user an user

To create or edit a user, select the Enterprise where the user will be created, then click the or the button and fill the following form:

Field Description
Enterprise The Enterprise where the user belongs.
Name The name of the user
Last Name The last name of the user
Role The Role of the user. Must be one of the following:
  • System Administrator: Can manage the physical infrastructure and manage configurations that can afects to all the cloud. Tipically this role is provided to users that has to manage the cloud infrastructure in order to offer a cloud service.
  • Enterprise Administrator: Can manage configurations at enterprise level and grant access to other standard users. Tipically, this role is provided to users that are the responsibles of an enterprise and wants to use cloud services.
  • User: Can manage the virtual infrastructure of his company. Tipically, this role is provided to users that uses the cloud service daily in order to have a quick virtual provisioning.
Username The username used to log in.
Password The password.
Repeat password The password.
Email The e-mail address of the user.
Description A short description of the user.
Activated Flag indicating if the user is activated or not.

Showing logged users

On the top right part of the screen, there is a checkbox that allows to see the currently logged users:
