Working with Abiquo Support

When placing a support request you might be asked for the following information:

Abiquo logs:

location is under /opt/abiquo/tomcat/logs.  Please capture and compress the files by running:

# tar cvzf /tmp/abiquo-logs.tar.gz /opt/abiquo/tomcat/logs 

and sending us the file /tmp/abiquo-logs.tar.gz.

abiquo-check-16-install

is run from the command line to display Abiquo server information.  This can be run by typing:

# abiquo-check-16-install 

and sending us the screen output.

sosreport

is run from the command line.  This is a Redhat^® utility that collects detailed hardware and setup information about the Abiquo server.  This can be run by typing:

# sosreport 

If this utility is not already installed [99.9% of the time it will already be there and you can skip these instructions], you may run the following:

# cd /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/sos/plugins/
# wget [http://github.com/abiquo/abiquo-report-sos-plugin/raw/master_server.py]
# python \-mpy_compile abiquo_server.py
 

The location of the file will be displayed once the utility is finished running.  Default location will be under /tmp.
If you are using Windows, a handy tool is WinSCP which you can download here. Connect to the abiquo server using WinSCP and navigate to the /tmp directory. Copy the zip file to a local destination.
