If you have the appropriate permissions, you can access the Configuration view by clicking the
Configuration view icon at the top of the screen.
The Configuration view consists of these tabs:
- Licenses: Provides license management functionality.
- System properties: Allows you to change the system properties
New Configuration Options
The General Tab has two new options in Abiquo 2.6
- Workflow endpoint
- Enable workflow
No heartbeat tab in version 2.0 and above
The heartbeat tab has been removed, heartbeat is enabled by default and heartbeat can be configured with an Abiquo configuration property.
The Heartbeat function collects basic information about the utilization of the platform to assist the development team in the future development of the software. By default Heartbeat is enabled. You can configure Heartbeat using the abiquo.heartbeat.autostart Abiquo Configuration Property.
Abiquo Enterprise Edition licensing is based on managed CPU cores. When purchasing an Abiquo license, the user must specify the number of CPUs that will be managed by the Abiquo platform and obtain a license according to that number.
There is no restriction on the way a user licenses the product. Users can purchase more than one license, and combine them to fit their needs.
Abiquo uses a cumulative licensing mechanism, so users who purchase several licenses L to manage C cores will have the ability to manage L1*N1 + L2*N2 + Ln*Nn cores.
The license tab is shown below.
The example figure shows the Abiquo platform installed with 3 licenses, one of them expired. The total amount of cores that the Abiquo platform will manage according to this example is 2000 cores.
To add a purchased license, just click the license key into the pop-up that appears:
button and copy the
You can also add a license through The Abiquo Wizard
To remove an existing license, select it and click the
The system properties tab allows the cloud administrator to view and change the properties that are currently used in each client by default.
The tab has the following pages: Infrastructure, Network, Dashboard, General and Wiki Links.
These properties are used in Infrastructure View.

- Refresh interval for VM template upload progress (seconds)
How often the background process will check the upload to update the progress bar when you Add VM Template from Local File to the appliance library of a datacenter. The update interval is indicated by a countdown timer in the lower right corner of the screen.
In Abiquo 2.4, the map feature was changed. Please see Google Maps Replaced with OpenStreetMap for more details. For information on how to configure the maps, see How to Obtain and Install a Google Maps API Key

The decimal longitude of the map location you will see when OpenStreetMap opens in the Infrastructure view.
For example, for Barcelona this would be 2.176944
- Default zoom level for Datacenters map
Sets the zoom slider when OpenStreetMap opens in the Infrastructure view.
- URL to UCS Manager Interface (http://rack_ip + value)
The value entered in this field will be appended to the URL of the managed rack to give the location where the UCS Manager Interface is located. For example "/ucsm/ucsm.jnlp".
Updating Infrastructure Screen
- Refresh interval for infrastructure data (seconds)
More than one cloud administrator can work with the same Abiquo platform at the same time. Thus the infrastructure page is updated so that changes in datacenters are propagated to all servers. The update interval is indicated by a countdown timer in the lower right corner of the screen in Infrastructure View.
- Refresh interval for event log (seconds)
How often Abiquo updates the display of the event log in the Home View.
- Number of IP addresses in lists
Number of IP addresses to display in a single page.
- Allow remote access to virtual machines
When selected, you can click the eye icon for a virtual machine within a virtual datacenter to open a hypervisor shell window. This option does not affect remote shell access (e.g. ssh). If this option is not selected, the eye icon is disabled. For more information see Configure Remote Access to Virtual Machines.
Updating Virtual Appliances
- Refresh interval for virtual appliance deployment progress (seconds)
How often the background process checks the deployment of virtual appliances and updates the virtual appliance state. Indicated by a countdown timer in the bottom right corner of the screen on the Virtual Appliance page. For more information please see Manage Virtual Appliances.
- Refresh interval for virtual appliance (seconds)
How often the background process checks the state of virtual appliances and updates the state.
Indicated by a countdown timer in the bottom right corner of the screen on the Virtual Appliance page. For more information please see Manage Virtual Appliances.
Create New Infrastructure Defaults
When creating a new physical machine, these are the default values displayed on the Create physical machine form.
- Default Hypervisor password
- Default Hypervisor port
- Default Hypervisor user
- Allowed virtual storage volume sizes (gigabytes)
Values displayed in gigabytes on the form for adding a new volume to a virtual datacenter. Enter values separated by commas with no spaces. You can enter values lower than one, for example, 0.5 or 0.1. For more information, see Manage Virtual Storage.
- URL for template disk format compatibility documentation
This link provides information about size limitations when you upload a new virtual machine template to the appliance library. For more information please see Appliance Library View - NFS Repository.
When you create a rack, these default networking options will be offered.
Virtual Machine Template Conversions
- Refresh interval for refresh missing VM template conversions (seconds)
When you edit a virtual machine template in your appliance library (uploaded from local machine/downloaded from repository), you can launch a background process to generate all the missing template formats for other hypervisors.
In the template formats list, the state of all template conversions is indicated and it gets refreshed by a background process. Because this is a pop-up screen, there is no countdown timer.
Default Private VLAN for Virtual Datacenters
The VLAN values for the private network automatically created by default in a virtual datacenter if no other default network (external network) is present.
These properties are used on the dashboard of the Home View.
- URL of Documentation home page
Link to the Abiquo manuals.
- Show users icon on main toolbar
If selected, users icon is displayed and both cloud administrators and enterprise administrators can edit users.
If not selected, no users icon is displayed and no one can edit users until the cloud administrator changes this option.
The Display Pop-up alert after login (Startup_Alert.txt) configuration option has been removed from Abiquo 2.6 because the Startup_Alert.txt has been replaced by The Abiquo Wizard.
- Refresh interval for Dashboard (Seconds)
Time interval between updates of the monitoring dashboard of the Home View to allow multiple users to make and see changes. Indicated with a countdown timer in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
