In defining the V2.6 release Abiquo had defined these core objectives:
This release follows on from the latest releases with features that are designed to enable integration with different aspects of the Abiquo platform; integrate new hypervisors and public cloud resources; and improve VM template management. The API outbound feature streams Abiquo events so external systems can be driven by actions on the Abiquo platform. The workflow feature will help enterprises to smoothly transition to cloud systems by integrating the Abiquo platform into their existing corprorate systems and procedures. In this release we have unified the hypervisor interface and introduced two new hypervisor integrations: OracleVM as a master hypervisor, and Hyper-V version 3. The Amazon C3 integration enables customers to move between private and public cloud spaces, while maintaining full control of virtual resources. Abiquo 2.6 includes major improvements to the template system. Administrators can now delete template disks even when they are in use. The template details can be maintained in the Abiquo database, enabing an easy transition to a new version of the same template. In addition, users with the appropriate access can now directly upload and download templates to and from the Apps Library using the Appliance Manager API. And customers can set allocation limits for the NFS repository space. This release focuses on fulfilling the requirements of the majority of our customers and better meeting the needs of enterprise customers.
