In Abiquo 3.6, you can create a template from an ISO file or edit an existing template to add an ISO file. You can also add an ISO disk from the Apps Library to an existing virtual machine.

Apps library

At the Apps library level you can manage ISO files. You can import ISO disks into the Abiquo platform and use them to create templates or add them to existing templates, and you can also modify ISO templates and disks.

Create a template from an ISO file

Creating a template from an ISO file uses the “Create template from local file” option in the Apps library. Here you should enter the usual template general information.

Then when you add the disk, select the ISO file option.

Click Select file and browse to upload the file. There is a new “bootable” option for all disks. If an ISO is bootable, then you can also add an empty disk where the ISO will be installed. Enter the size of the empty disk. You cannot resize an ISO disk.

You can now reorder all disks in the boot sequence, including the boot disk, and any bootable disk can be put into the 0 position in the disk sequence.

Edit a template to add an ISO file

You can edit an existing template and add an ISO file. You can do this from the Disks tab, using the Disk from ISO file option.

Click Select file and browse to upload the file. There is a new “bootable” option for all disks. If an ISO is bootable, then you can also add an empty disk where the ISO will be installed. Enter the size of the empty disk.

You cannot resize an ISO disk.
