Microsoft has changed the authentication method for CSP customers, which affects the billing dashboard and the public cloud price list synchronization features.

CSP customers will need to obtain an authentication code and use it along with the application ID and secret key to call the Azure AD Tokens API to obtain a refresh token.

In addition, Microsoft has also changed the look and feel of the Azure portal.

See Obtain Azure ARM credentials

For billing dashboards, the CSP customer can then enter the new credentials for each tenant in the billing script configuration file. See Display Azure billing data

For public cloud price list synchronization, for CSP accounts, you must now add the letters “csp#” at the start to identify a CSP account and enter the new credentials, as follows:

csp#tenantId#clientId#accessToken#refreshToken

In the password field, enter the client secret of the app.

For standard accounts, you should add the letters “normal#” at the start of the credentials, as shown here:

normal#subscription-id#app-id#tenant-id#offer-durable-id

In the password field, enter the client secret of the app.

If there is no text string at the start of the credentials, then the platform assumes that they belong to a standard account, so existing standard credentials will not be affected by the upgrade.
