Value

Name

The name of the external or unmanaged VLAN. The name can contain VLAN with up to 128 characters

IPv6Mark this checkbox to To create an IPv6 network. See Create External IPv6 Networks, select this checkbox
StrictFor IPv6 networks only. If you select Strict, Abiquo will automatically generate EUI64 IP addresses and you will not be able to manually generate them

Net. Address

The network address of the VLAN as created by the Network Administrator

Netmask (CIDR)

The network mask with an integer value between 16 and in CIDR format. The value can be from 16 to 30 inclusive

Gateway

The gateway of the network. Make sure the gateway is It must be an IP address inside the range defined by the network address and the network mask

Tag*Enter

the tag supplied by the Network Administrator and check its availabilityThe tag to use for this VLAN

Check

Click to check Check tag availability for all the racks of the Abiquo datacenter.

  • Green: tag available
  • Yellow: tag in use by other networks, but you can still use it. E.g. external or public network
    • Red: tag not available because it is not assigned in Abiquo for use on the rack.

    You should define a VLAN with the same tag on all racks. Green = available, Yellow = in use, Red = unavailable

    Network service typeChoose Select the Network Service Type, which represents a Network Interface on the hypervisors. Configure Network Service Types when you configure physical machines.

    Unmanaged

    Mark this checkbox if Select to create an unmanaged network, when you will manage IP addresses outside Abiquo
